The Power of A Dream

In life, many things drive us forward. Some may be less, others may be more than creating great changes in our routines.

When one conjures up a heartfelt dream which he/she genuinely wishes to realize, it sends signals to the body to work towards that goal of high ideals. That in effect governs his/her whole purpose in life.

A dream coming from within the heart, not of the material kind but something intangible, is potentially a driving force for our success.

A Dream ........ Gives Us Direction
........ Increases Our Potential
........ Helps Us Prioritize
........ Adds Values To Our Work

and Most of all
........ Predicts Our Future

So said John C. Maxwell, a New York Times best selling author, in his other book "Go For Gold"

Life Is A Big Stage

We may not realize, what we do today, in fact everyday, is the manifestation of our desire to be a part of this world. We choose our part. Sometimes these parts are forced upon us. Like it or not, we are being watched every single act of the play, be it at home, at work, or at play.

While certain scenes require us to act the way others want us to, such as when we a member of a football team, others offer us the freedom to express our self, like when we are asleep, but only up to a stage, for the stage is biased to accept any form of in-coherent behaviour. We need to conform, or else we become an outcast.

Gong Xi Gong Xi 恭喜, 恭喜

The Year of the Tiger has arrived. This animal is synonymous with power, strength, courage, wittiness. It has the ability to plan, setting traps to hunt its preys in such a way that it usually succeeds in its first strike. It is also clever to avoid danger and un-necessary confrontation with its biggest hunter - the Human Being.

212 Degree F

In any endeavour, as in any pursuit of excellence, the difference that separates a champion and the rest is just one tiny ounce of penultimate drive. It is that little bit of extra effort, drawn from the adrenaline that makes a champion.

A lot of time, we are oblivious to the daily phenomena that's right before our eyes. We could have properly harnessed it to make our lives more discerning, and enriching. I refer to water and steam. Both are highly visible, but are so much apart in level of energy.

When we boil water, we see layers and layers of steam being let loose. Take the fire away, and we see less and less steam. Add in more fire, and we see lots and lots of steam emerging, until the speed of its generation is so quick, the sound so intense, that we start to feel its power - the power that drives a locomotive.

Like steam that's let loose, time and again we reach an energy plateau, because the fire has been removed, prematurely. We want to go further, but we simply could not summon that extra ounce of energy, that extra 1 degree F of power, to reach our goal. We give up, feeling defeated, not by the seemingly un-reachable goal, but by lamenting our own lack of will.

Is 1 deg F all that difficult to grasp?

If one were to super-boil it, the water would have so much more energy that it would make the locomotive run faster, and further.
Now this is certainly food for thought for any enterprise manager. In short, take your position so far ahead that others simply cannot touch you, even with a 10 feet pole. Your competitors can wallow themselves in their own statistics, but that would be no where near yours.
